Welcome! At the heart of each of my film portraits is a love for cultivating extensive botanicals and documenting their associated flowers and fruits. I grow everything you will find in these compositions in my Wisconsin gardens, where my interest in plants and gardening has been with me since childhood. All of this led to my degrees in Botany and Horticulture. I continue to create my compositions from a color film negative using my beloved Mamiya RZ-67. This medium-format film camera (it is not digital) has long been used for professional portraiture, which is why I find it perfect for this subject matter. In order to meet my precise standards for color and quality, each print undergoes a very time-consuming path and follows archival museum methods.
